LHS

Smart Transportation

Enable real-time control, safety, and passenger comfort from track to train.

LHS delivers rugged and intelligent network solutions designed for rail and mass transit systems. From onboard control to terminal communications, our technology supports fast, reliable, and secure connectivity across moving vehicles and fixed infrastructure. Whether you’re enhancing safety, enabling real-time video, or optimizing passenger experiences, we help transportation systems move smarter.

Singapore’s rail network is expanding at its fastest pace in years. The Jurong Region Line, the Thomson-East Coast Line extensions, and the Cross Island Line represent billions of dollars in rail infrastructure investment — all requiring certified, ruggedised networking equipment that can operate reliably in the demanding onboard and wayside environments of modern transit systems.

LHS supplies EN50155-certified PoE switches, TCMS network infrastructure, and rugged transportation connectivity solutions to rail operators, system integrators, and rolling stock OEMs across Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Our Smart Transportation Solutions

EN50155-Certified PoE Switches for Rolling Stock

Our EN50155-certified PoE switches are designed specifically for onboard use in trains, buses, and other rolling stock. Built with M12 connectors for vibration-resistant connections and wide-range DC power inputs compatible with vehicle battery systems, these switches maintain reliable network connectivity even in the most demanding transit environments.

They support PoE (Power over Ethernet) for onboard cameras, passenger information displays, access control systems, and Wi-Fi access points — reducing wiring complexity and enabling cleaner system integration in space-constrained rolling stock cabinets.

TCMS Network Infrastructure

The Train Control and Management System (TCMS) is the central nervous system of a modern train — managing traction, braking, door control, HVAC, passenger information, and diagnostics through a unified communication network. Reliable TCMS communication depends on a deterministic, redundant Ethernet backbone that can guarantee message delivery within specified time windows even under fault conditions.

LHS supplies industrial switches and networking equipment configured for TCMS network architectures — supporting ring redundancy protocols with sub-millisecond recovery times, IEEE 1588 PTP time synchronisation, and the VLAN configurations required to separate TCMS traffic from passenger-facing network segments.

Copper-to-Fibre Conversion for Rail Environments

Extending Ethernet connectivity beyond the 100m copper limit — common in long station halls and depot installations — requires reliable media conversion. Our rail-grade fiber media converters provide the electrical isolation and long-distance reach needed for station and depot networking, with the environmental ratings required for rail installations.

IP Video Surveillance for Transit

Station and vehicle CCTV systems require PoE-capable switches that can power IP cameras reliably across the full operating temperature range and under the power quality variations typical of rail environments. Our EN50155-compliant switches with extended PoE budgets are specified for exactly this application.

Use Cases

Modern transit systems demand real-time data, safety-critical communications, and uninterrupted performance whether onboard or at the station. LHS solutions enable the full spectrum of rail and metro applications, from automation to passenger experience.

Solution Workflow

See how we ensure continuous, secure communication from train to terminal delivering performance you can trust at every step:
